A Loss of $50,000 and a Xiong Delay Necessary. News has been received here of a se rious disaster to the Old Abe' gold mine at White Oaks, says the 1 Paso Herald. There was a caving in, a few nights ago, from the first to the sixth level, a distance of about 700 feet. Tbe men were all out of the mine at the time. It will take ' many weeks and on expenditure of $50,000 to re pair the damage. Nearly all of the people of the camp are dependent upon this mine for employment, and tbe dis aster U of a publio character. The burning of tbe shaft, last year, caused tbe loss of five lives and the suspension of work for months. Tbe mine bas for many years been a good producer, and bas paid large dividends.
