They have spent the winter at Eagle I*ake but the good reports from our \ alley created the desire to i nvestigate before returning North. They will leave here today for San Benito. John V. and Edward Novotny, two brothers, who reside at Schuyler, Nebraska, spent Sunday in Browns ville and Matamoros. The Novotny brothers have been in the Valley about ten days. Champion Faustino Rendon, E. Kow alski and I<ee Campbell, for the pro tection of property against fire in Brownsville. They have invited quite a numbr to unite with them in this good work. The first meeting will be held tonight, probably a the county court house. It is their inten tion to equip their men wi**h buckets and axes and it will be their idea to save personal property from burning buildings as well as tonight fire.
