E-136 SECRETARIES DEPART TODAY Valley Group Leaves For Double Meet In Corpus Christi (Special to The Herald) SAN BENITO. May 15.—Plan* for advertising South Texas to the world, further opposition to the Box bill, tariffs, and other matters vitally af fecting the future of the Lower Rio Grande Valley are to be brought up at the convention of the South Texas Executives association at Corpus C hristi May 16, said J. E. Bel! of this i I city, president of the organization, j before leaving Tuesday afternoon for! Corpus Christi. Mr. Bell left in company with G. C. • Richardson, secretary of the Browns ville Chanter of Commerce, and the two expect to pick up several other chamber of commerce secretaries along the route. They are making the trip by automobile. “We will take up the matter of forming an organization, or taking some other steps to bring about more advertising throughout the world for the Valley,” Mr. Bell said. “The pro position of forming an organization to be known as ‘South Texans. Inc.,’ has been discussed among secretaries in the Valley, and with other secre taries. In all probability this will he launched in an active way at the Corpus Christi meeting.” Mr. Bell, in addition to having the duty of presiding over the session at Corpus Christi. is on the program for a talk and discussion at the con vention of the Texas Commercial Executives association, which meets the following day. and holds forth for three days. He is to deliver a talk at the meeting on agricultural pro grams of chambers of commerce. The San Benito secretary has con ducted an intensive study of the sub ject. and has compiled information from all available sources, which in formation will he presented in the form of a paper, followed by a dis cussion.
