Mrs. S. H. Collier conducted the
program on applied arts at the
Study club this week, her subject
being “China.” The discussion was
a most interesting one with illus
trations of rare hand-painted china.
Mrs. Grant Morrison gave a res
ume of the current chapter in the
book “The Heritage of Women.”
Mrs. Raymond Mills presided with
Mrs, John Rouse caring for the du
ties of secretary.

NEEDLECRAFT MEETS
Mrs. W. W. De Cell was elected
president of the Needlccraft club at
the last meeting which was held at
the home of Mrs. T. H. Pollard.
Other officers elected were Mrs. J.
O. Ward, vice-president; Mrs. N. L.
Harrington, secretary-treasurer, and
Mrs. J. S. McNeil as reporter. Mrs.
i J. R. Barry and Mrs. J. E. Haynes
were named as the flower commit
tee. Seventeen women were in at
tendance. The afternoon was spent
in the usual manner of sewing and
chatting, followed by a refreshment
course.

THREE TICKETS OUT
IN RAYMONDVILLE

RAYMONDVILLE. March 8.—
Local city politics have begun to
hum here, with three candidates
for mayor and four for city com
missioner already in the field. The
three candidates for mayor are M.
H. Dryer, the present incumbent,
P. D. Lissner and Judge W. E. Me
Charen.
The candidates for commissioner
on the Dryer ticket will be S. V.
Kinser and J. H. Jamison, while
those running for this office on the
Lissner ticket will be B. F. Watson
and Ben E. Carroll. No candidates
so far have been named to run
with Judge McCharen.
All of the candidates arc prom
inent business men in Raymond
ville. The election will be held the
first Tuesday in April, and prom
ises to be an interesting one.
