PLAYS PRESENTED
MISSION, March 9.—The one
act play contest, consisting of four
one-act plays for tne coming in
terscholastic league contest, was
given at the Wilson school audi
torium Friday night. “The Tryst
ing Place,” by Booth Tarkiugton,
“Cherry Special,” by Beatrice Mc
Neill. “Will o’ the Wisp,” by Doris
Holman, and “The Pot Boilers,” by
Guerstenburg, were the plays en
tered, each being directed by a
member of the senior high school
public speaking class.
MASS FOR MRS. MADRIGAL
ROMA, March 9.—Requiem high
mass was held at 7 o’clock Friday
at the local church for Mrs. Ge
naro Madrigal, wife of Genaro Ma
drigal, one of Starr county’s promi
nent merchants and ranchmen.
Mrs. Madrigal died in San An
tonio at 12 o'clock yesterday and
will be brought here for interment
in the loc. 1 cemetery. She leaves
a host of friends and relatives in
Starr and Cameron counties.
