Katie Swayze. ! Mary Lee Stephens Rosalie Earle. j Mabel Nelson. Esther Crossland, j Geraldine Richmond. Ethel Bea- 1 chum, and Foster Crowell. Maryj Lee Stephens was valedictorian of the class and Gladys Shoquist was saiutatorian. Rev. L A Boone de livered the address to the gradu ates, and the diplomas were award ed by Supt. V. H Tumlinson. The class sang two songs. "A May Morning." L Denza. and " Tis Spring." Ira B Wilson, with Mrs. j Leigh Flinn at the piano. The graduates will be entertain ed Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs C H Swayze. with a dinner party, and lat*r in the evening they will be entertained by Mrs. B V. Crowell with a picture show party, at La Vista theater Friday morning th* pupils of the junior school will be awarded di plomas. George Goodrich Is Seriously Injured In Automobile Crash _____ George Goodrich, who was seri ously injured in an automobile ac cident near Kerrville recently, is re-1 ported to be doing well, according to messages received by his father. E. K Goodrich. The accident occurred during the early morning hours on Tuesday of last week, when the car which he was driving overturned on a sharp cur/e near Kerrville. pinning him beneath It. and breaking his leg above the knee, and fracturing the thigh bone He also sustained cuts about the head necessitating several stitches. Two other young men who were in the car with Goodrich leaped clear, and were not hurt. Goodrich, who is the son of Mr and Mrs. E K Goodrich. Sr. of this city, and has been working as foreman for a orad contractor near Kem1!le. Mrs Goodrich is now in Kvrville. when* George is in a hosptal. Bur nell Goodrich Joined them there on Saturday. F Franklin, of Del Paso Heights. Cal., was under arrest to day after authorities had been in formed by his three daughters that their mother and a voung brother had disapeared in 1923 The daughters and another son. Robert Franklin. 19. appeared be fore District Attorney Guy P John son and charged their father with inhuman treatment of his family. Statutory charges were preferred bv the daughters, and Franklin, an el derly carpenter was held on $10,009 ban. Tranklin denied the charges and told police his wife and son had gone to Portland. Aged Stuart Place Farmer Dies Today; Burial In Oklahoma (Special to The Herald* HARLINGEN. May 2S —George Henry Jones. 71. farmer at Stuart Place died early today after a lin gering illness. His body will be for warded by Thompson's mertuarv tonight to the old family home. Oklahoma City, for burial. Three sons and the widow will accompany the remains.
