Be it ordained by the City of Brownsville: That on each and every One Hun dred ($100.00) Dollars assessed val uation in lawful money of the Unit ed States of America, assessed in the manner prescribed by the Laws cf this State, and the Ordinances of this City, there is hereby levied, and there shall be assessed and col lected for the year 1923, on all prop erty; real, personal ar d mixed; sit uated in the City of Brownsville County of Cameron. That of the land heretofore included within the City, which has since been by Ordinance duly excluded and eliminated from the City, there remains due and pay able the interest and sinking fund of the above named and listed Bond Issues and Warrants from and after the year 1907 to the year 1929, which said lands shall pay their pro-rata of the interest and sinking fund on all of the above and foregoing issues from and af ter the date of the same to the year of exclusion of said lands. Lands excluded in the year 1918, being a pro-rata amounting tb Thirteen (13c) Cents on each One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars assessed valuation; those excluded in the year 1920, being Thirty-four (24c) Cents on each One Hundred (100. 00) Dollars assesed valuation; and those excluded in the year 1921. being F-rty-five (45) Cents on each One Hundred (3100.00) Dollars as sessed valuation. ill. That all of the said taxes hereby levied, and which shall be assessed and collected aforesaid, shall be paid in lawful money of the United States of America. IV. That all taxes hereby levied, and which shall be assessed and collected under and by virtue of this Ordinance, shall become due and payable on the 15th day of December. 1929. and one-half of same shall be paid on or before the 31st day of January, 1930, and the remaining one-half of the same shall be paid on or before the 31st day of Judy. 1930. Provided, how ever, that in the event at least half of said taxes are not paid on or before the 31st day of 'anuary. 1930, a penalty of ten (10ro) per cent shall accrue on the entire amount of all taxes levied here LEGAL ADVERTISEMENT under which are not paid in the manner and proportions as afore said, and all such taxes which are not paid on or before the 3lst da; of January, 1930. a ill bear inter est at the rate of six per centum per annum from and after the 1st day of January. 1930. Provided further, that in the event the se cond one-half of any taxes Is not paid on or before the 31st day of July, 1930, there shall then accrue a penalty of ten per cent of the amount so becoming delinquent and the said taxes shall draw interest at the rate of six per cent per an num from the 1st day of Tanuary, 1930, until paid, ail of which pen alty and Interest, if any, shall be paid when the taxes upon which the same shall have accrued are paid.
