VALLEY COPS AID TOURISTS Any hardships suffered by Valley tourists because of stringent traffic law enforcement are caused by of ficers others than county or city. This became apparent today when statements were made by the sher iff’s office and various city police. These statements were motivated by a movement of the Harlingen Chamber of Commerce looking to ward more courteous treatment of tourists in the Valley. Sheriff Prank Brown stated that not one complaint had been filed by his office against persons using out-of-state licenses since he had been in office. "We have gone far out of our way to make things easy for the tourist that I fear we have been imposed upon at times.” the sheriff said. Courteous Treatment The bona fide tourist has always been given the most courteous treatment from my office and will continue to be so treated." he con tinued. However, there are a number of ‘professional tourists.' who are in reality Valley residents, w'ho will be forced to obtain licenses in the near future.” Lieut. John T. Armstrong of the Brownsville police department made a statement along the same lines of that made by Sheriff Brown. I "There never has been a bona fide tourist fined for minor infrac tions of traffic laws in the city cor poration court,” Lieut. Armstrong said. "They are always courteously warned of their infratcions and local ordinances explained.” However, many people w’ho are not bona fide tourists plead off on the grounds that they are new comers and do not know traffic regulations here, the lieutenant said. No Fines E. E. Sadler, county traffic of ficer for the southern section, de dared that for the past three years no (me has paid a fine for using an out-of-state license on a complaint filed through the sheriff’s office. "Lawson Anglin, officer for the northern section, and I have been Instructed by the sheriff and the county attorney to be lenient and courteous towards tourists at all times. “A whole lot depends upon how you approach the tourists. Every tourist I approached on the question of out-of-state licenses took no of fense and later purchased the neces sary tags.” How One Woman Lost 20 Pounds of Fat Lost Her Double Chin Lost Her Prominent Hips Lost Her Sluggishness Gained Physical Vigor Gained in Vivaciousness Gained a Shapely Figure If vou're fat—remove the cause!
