R. Ohls last week, with the Misses Dorothy and Beatrice Ohls and their bro thers. John, Paul, Arthur and Frederick, as hosts. Games were played on the lawn and later a refreshment course wits served. Millard Dilg and Fil bert Engelbrecht of Harlingen, Paul Rickert and Walter Kline. • • • DINNER DANCE HONORS COUPLE A most enjoyable dinner dance was given at the American Le gion club rooms for Mr. and Mrs. Dort Davis of Weslaco, who are leaving soon for Nebraska to spend the coming year. The club rooms were graced with a profusion of gaily colored flowers. After din ner, dancing was enjoyed. The host and hostess group in cluded Messrs, and Mesdames C. C. Me II'.vain, O. J. Ill MEXICAN SUPPER AT GARRISON HOOME The Misses Dorothy and Mar garet Garrison were hostesses at a Mexican supper at their home, their guests including a number of young folk. Vari-colored wild flowers made pretty decorations and tiny potted cacti formed uni que centerpieces for the quartet tables where supper was served. Places were marked for Misses Catherine Commons and Gladys Hampton. John Shaw. Glenn Com mons, and Charlie Carr and Ver shal Rvlander of La Feria, and the hostesses. • • • AUXILIARY RE-ELECTS MRS POTT'S PRESIDENT Officers were elected in the lo cal Baptist Auxiliary with Mrs. J C. Potts being re-electea president, at a meeting held at the home of Mrs. Fleet Lentz. Mtss Ettie Ivev was elected vice-president to suc ceed Mrs. A C. Cope. Mrs. G. K tng secretary, an office which wh*. not filled last year. Mrs. S. O. Bates was re-elected recording secretary and treasurer. At the next meeting circle chair men and committee chairmen will bl announced. Mrs. Osbourne W was in charge of the devotional services. PERSONALS Mrs. Mary Morrow and daughter Mias Marie Morrow, have return ed from a ten day visit in Salti llo and Monterrey, Mexico. En route home they spent several days In Edinburg with Mrs. Mor row's daughter. Mrs. Rogers Kel ley. Morrow Is leaving the first of the week for Austin where she is an instructor at the State University. Mrs. John Phelan has for her house guest, Mrs. Zula Walker of San An*onio. Mrs. H L. Sizer was the scene of a birthday party Tuesday evening when the Rio Hondo order of the Eastern Star No. 815 entertained honoring the founder of the East ern Star. Robert E. Morris. Crystal vases with hibiscus, cor ona and roses formed floral adorn ment and were placed at vantage points. An appropriate program was giv en, Mrs. P. M. Brannon singing "In the Twilight Hour." J. R. Jones told of incidents in the life of Robert Morris. Mrs. G. Lassiter told of Robert Morris as a Mason and Miss Pearl Brown told of Robert Morris as the founder of the Eastern Star. A song "My Valley Home" was given by little Misses Peggy Bran non and Elizabeth Sizer. Mrs. J. P Lindsey delighted all assembled with a humorous reading. Games of various kinds were enjoyed. Mrs. E. M. A Sizer, worthy ma tron of the Rio Grande chapter, and J. W. Tredway. worthy patron were escorted to the east and were welcomed by the San Benito worthy matron. Mrs. flzer was presented wtih a shoulder corsage of pink roses and fern. Mrs. Sizer responded with an ap propriate greeting and gave a brief history of the order In the neigh boring city. J. W. Conklin of the Brown Tract. Miss Dorothy Porter, Cameron County Home Demonstration agent, gave a talk and demonstration.
