Nov. 10.—One ol Li most thrilling games ol the aeaso. is expected here Saturday when th. University of Arkansas RazorbaciL Invade Ownsby Stadium for an aer ial battle with Southern Metho dist’s aerial circus. The number of spectacular passes anticipated from both teams is expected to offset the fact that both clubs are out of the running for the conference title. Against the Texas Aggies last week the Methodists tossed no less than 27 passes, eleven of which were completed for a total gain of 154 yards. Ray Morrison had two pass ing combinations working in a man ner that reminded Mustangs fans of the great Methodist passing teams of former years. Capt. How ard Sprague passed with deadly accuracy to Raymond Fuqua, the sophomore flasl from Shreveport. La., and Whitey Baccus' accurate heaves found the waiting arms of Kenneth Mills in uncanny fashion. Lack of a goal line punch nullified the passing game, however, as far as scoring was concerned. Tiie Porkers flashed a brilliant overhead game Saturday against the Rice Owls that had the Houstonians battling with their backs to the wall throughout the game. Long Tom Murphy's tossing to "Carrie” Nations, elongated wingmau was the feature of the game, which was won by the Owls in a great fourth period rally. A large crowd is expected to be on hand for the scrap as it will oc the only conference game Satur day. Six thousand seats will be plac- j ed on sale at bargain prices, accord ing to Methodist officials. Contest FORT WORTH, Nov. 10— For the fourth straight yeai, the Tex as Christian-University of Texas game will have an important bear ing on the conference title of the Southwest. Tne game this year has perhaps cast the others Into the background in the matter of pre game interest. The series had its beginning in 1929 when the Frogs won the*r first championship. The two teams met in Austin. Texas had Dexter Shelley and the Christians had Cy Leland, Howard Grubbs and Mike Brumbelow. The Frogs emergen from the battle as the winner and won the conference title. In 1930 the battle was staged in Port Worth. Texas won the game and the championship, la 1931, a crippled Christian outfit lost to the Steers in Austin. The Steers were nosed out by Southern Methodist for the crown but finished high in the race. Highly important The game this year is not the final word in the matter o' deter mining the flag winner, but it has more to do with it than any other game to date. It is not likely that either of the teams will drop Tigers to Play Craters Friday ____ i I The Brownsville Tigers have two games scheduled with the San Benito Box Makers, the first to be played Friday and the second Sunday.
