Compliments Houseguest Wednesday Mrs. William Brown. Sr, added I delightful courtesy to the social calendar Wednesday after noon when she entertained at a Vur ta ble bridge party, complimenting her sister, Mrs. E. R. Brown of Corpus Christ!. her houseguest during the past week. The living and dining rooms were attractively decorated in a springtime motif, which was gain ed by the use of shallow bowls fill ed with sweet peas in pastel hues and plaoed at vantage points, and the tasteful arrangement of pretty roses and fern. In the games of bridge. Mrs. Joe Downs was winner of high score trophy and Mrs. S. C. Graham, second. The hostess presented a lovely trophy to each. Dainty sandwiches cut in hearts, clubs, diamonds and spades and strawberry shortcake were served. Making up the personnel were Meadames Fred Wright. O. O. F. and Rebekah lodges held recently in Greenville was given by Mrs. J. K. Bull who at tended from Brownsville, at the meeting of the Rebekah lodge Tuesday evening in the Masonic Temple. They are used in a variety of crepes both the ruff and silk, triple sheers and chiffons. Correct accessories for each frock will be worn, including the pigskin shoes and gloves that are so stylish for spring and early summer. And as summer approaches, thoughts center on the beach and swimming, so the showing of the latest m bathing suits and beach costumes will be of interest. ' Betty Boop Club Organized Here A Betty Boop club was organized Wednesday afternoon electing Ruth Parish president and Helen Du fault, secretary. Meetings are to be held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and the first Sunday of the month has been selected as “picnic day".
