Hidalgo Music Teachers Association Has Meeting MERCEDES. April 8.—A feature of the meeting of the Hidalgo County Music Teachers Associa tion held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Hager of this city, Monday evening was the presenta tion of three of Mrs. Hager's ou pils. it musical numbers. The association, of which Parks Godde «f Weslaco is president, meets «nce a month in the various cl dcs of Hidalgo county for a social. Miss Viola Symons gave two cocal numbers. "The Lass With 4he Delicate Air,” by Arne and n Bacio” by Ardite. Miss Anne Ferguson played "In Autumn" by Maskowski. and Miss Dora Hager played Dance Caprice" by Craig, They are pupils of Mrs. Hager. Numbers given by the teachers present were Parks Goode, pi;’no. by McDowell; Mrs. Hager sang "La Somnarabula”, by Bellini; Frederick Schobaime of McAllen, piano. Mrs. H. L. Schmalzried. who. with Mrs. Murray, attended the 10th District P.-T. A convention lx Id recently at Brownsville, gave a report. Mrs. Murray displayed a framed certificate, a life membership in the Texas Congress of Parents and Teachers, presented at the conven tion ir. Brownsville, by the Hidalgo County P.-T. A. Mrs. Murray or ganized the council and served as president for the first two years. Rev. E. V. May was the speaker for the afternoon, his subject being “Comradeship With Our I Children". Sara Virginia Henry gave a piano number, and Mary Louise Pruitt, a reading. Mrs. W. Ed Perry's room scored for at tendance, tieing with Mrs. Joe Day's room.
