rpHE completion of the new seaport now under construc
X tion in Cameron county, Texas, will help to make this
county and all other portions of the Rio Grande Valley and
vicinity a great manufacturing and distributing metropoli
tan district.
9
This seaport will provide markets to and
through all the seaports of the world for all
needed and useful products which can be prop
erly manufactured and distributed from many
portions of Southern Texas and Northern
Mexico.
The completion of this seaport will there
fore mark the beginning of a pew era for Cam
eron County, for all of this wonderful Valley,
and for many other places in the vicinity for
hundreds of miles in each direction.
A great growth has already been made in
this section by the development of orange and
grapefruit groves and winter gardens, and
other products grown because of its rich soil
and unexcelled climate.
The .continual expansion of the develop
ment of products of its soil alone will add
much new weaW» and growth to the entire Rio
Grande Valley ar^vicinity.
The completion this new seaport will
open up many new maV^ets for the wonderful
products rtf the soil fr<J m all of this rich sec
tion, and tht^fore ^jjl make a larger demand
and better prtev |^r t Aese products, and will
naturally increasev\alue of all lands.
In addition to tPe ne\&r era of better prices
and larger markets for the products of the soil
which the completion of this new seaport will
make, there will be added the beginning of a
new era of great wealth and prosperity creat
ed by manufacturing and distributing many
new products from various portions of Cam
eron County and other sections of the Rio
Grande Valley and vicinity.
However great the wealth and growth can
become by the use of its soil, the additional
wealth and growth which can be added by
the manufacturing in and distributing from
this section can be made to become many
hundreds of times greater than all the wealth it
• will ever beposible to make from raising pro
ducts from its soil, even though every acre
should be cultivated or grazed to the best pos
sible advantage and the prices for everything
so produced should be the best obtainable in
markets of the world.
The completion of this new seaport will
make, for every city, town and community,
not only of Cameron County but also of all
other parts of the Rio Grande Valley and vi
cinity, an opportunity to become a prosperous
and wealthy manufacturing and distributing
center.
Supplementing all the possible wealth
which each place can make from the soil in its
vicinity, every place in this whole secton of
Southern Texas and Northern Mexico can now
prepare to add still greater wealth by manu
facturing many useful and needed products,
and distributing large portions of such prod
ucts through this new seaport to other mar
kets of the world.
Many large, and many small and medium
sized manufacturing plants will naturally be
located at and near this new seaport, and at
and near other places in the Rio Grande Valley
and vicinity of Southern Texas and Northern
Mexico.
Whole trains and truck loads of manufac
tured products and also of products from the
soil will in time be arriving almost constantly
at this new seaport for shipment to the mar
kets of the world.
These trains and trucks will in turn take
back to the place from which they came and to
many other places other products made at or
near this new seaport, or shipped from other
parts of the world.
m
•
This whole section, therefore, will be
greatly enriched, not only by its own manu
facturing plants, but also by the trade and
business created with all places that ship
through this seaport.
