Prof. Thomas O'Brian, teacher of history in the Vinita high school, left last .night for his home at Warrens burg, Mo., to spend Christmas. The Katy Flyer was iu two sections loday in order to handle the extra large amount of mail. The first section is for the mail alone and will be run during the holiday season. Lewis Griffin will leave this evening for Cleveland, Tenn., to be at the bed side of his mother, who is not expected to live. J. E. A ire IH OKLAHOMA San Diego, Cal., Dec. 26. Deter mined to do all in his power to secure participation by Oklahoma in the San Diego Exposition in 1915 celebrating the opening of the Panama Canal, C. T. Byrd, chairman of the Oklahoma Participation Society of this city, has left for that state to put un to the legislature the advantages of an ex hibit here worthy of that common wealth. Although a prominent attor ney and largely identified with life here, Byrd retains his affection for Oklahoma and interest in her de velopment. He resided there many years, was a member of the Oklahoma constitutional convention, and served in the first legislature after her ad mittance to Btatehood. "I lovo San Diego," he said before he left, "but I can never lose interest in Oklahoma. The state has made such wonderful strides in the past few years that anyone who has lived there must be proud of the state. I have made a careful study of what the San Diego exposition can do for Oklahoma and have decided that I must give up my time and money and go back and tell my state the possi bilities that lie in an advertisement of her resources here in 1915.
