FACTORY GIRL. WEDS RICHES. Wins the Heart of a Connecticut Man ufacturer. He Used to See Her Do ing Her Modest Work, But When She Turned Her Glorious Eyes Cpon Him He Felt a Flutter at the Heart. A Bridgeport, Conn., dispatch says: With no other dower than her beauty and the graces of a sweet and amiable disposition. Miss Mamie O'Donnell, a poor factory girl, was today made the happy bride of Joseph Buckingham Canfield. the son and heir of H. O. Canfield, the millionaire rubber maker of this city. It was a wedding in which hearts were trumps and in which two brave and loving hearts stormed and captur ed by assault the ramparts of parental opportunities. Young Canfield holds a prominent position in his father's big rubber fac- tory. He is a manly young fellow, with a good, strong wil lof his own. The family belongs to the best Bridgeport society, and the doors of some of the proudest houses in the city have had the latch string out for this promising young son of Croesus. . But on his way to and from his father's factory the young man used to meet a modest little woman, dressed In the plainest of working gUI'a gowns, but so neat and tasteful withal that, to his eyes, at least, she glorified the simplest prints and turned them into silks and satins in his eyes. Smitten to the Soul. When this little working girl from Vermont, wh oearned her daily bread in a factory adjoining his own. turn ed her glorious eyes upon him. Can field felt a flutter at the heartstrings which no other eyes had ever caused. Soon he found himself raising his hat to her when they met. Then came pleasant "good mornings" or "good evenings." and ater a while they stop ped to chat a litttle and lingered in each' other's company. Something about the young girl commanded res pect, for she respected herself and when the young man, smitten to the soul, offered her his heart and hand he felt that he was asking favors, not giving them. There was objection, of courso. whet Canfield told his father and mother of his resolve. But they melted before the girl's charming personality, and she was taken into the parents hearts as well. Today the wedding was celebrated in the Canfield's palatial home in Klm wood place. The -house was beautifully decorated. Only the members of the family were bidden. The bride, being an orphan, her brother gave her away. The Rev. W. H. Lewis of St. John's Episcopal church performed the ceremony. Kaseman, 'Phone 8, for the best coal.
