Architect Boyer says he is very busy in the procuration of plans for a number of residences that are in pros ]>ect of building this spring. H. E. Frost, of Guthrie Center. lowa, a prominent newspaper man .of that place, editor of the Sentinel, is in the city, the guest of H. H. and J. A. Lyons. Owing to the fact of the lateness of Easter Sunday and the delightful spring weather the ladies will prob ably wear their spring hats tomorrow instead of waiting for the Easter Sun day. F. A. Moriarty of Denver arrived in the city this afternoon over the narrow guago, joining Mrs. Moriarty here for a few days’ visit. Mr. and Mrs. Moriarty will be the guests of Mrs. G. A. Olson. The friends of the young men of the Fort Collins Agricultural College band and glee club, will be glad to learn that they will pay this city a visit in about another week. The present tour of the organizations is very successful. Miss Nellie Peters who resides on east Main was pleasantly surpised by the members of the Twentieth Cen tury club last evening. Games were played and dainty rerfeshments served after au evening of merriment.. The guests departed after having a pleas ant time. Everyone having regard for the beauty of the city should clean up their premises at once. Individual work can accomplish more than what can be accomplished by the city it self. Have a pride in your homes and make the surroundings beautiful. It will pay tin largest amount of per centage of profit that can be earned in any other manner. Messrs. A. R. and J. M. Sampliuer pu re based today from W. Scott, of Pennsylvania, through the agent of Mr. Scott in this citv, Henry W. Ross, eight lots. Four of the lots are on Main street, on the north side of the street, between 11th and 12th. and the other four are facing south on the northeast corner of 10th and Colorado avenue. The Messrs. Sam piuer continue to show faith in the city and will erect some buildings on the Colorado avenue property during the summer. The meeting of the stockholders of the Western Slope Oil. Gas and De velopment company was held in the City hall last night. The old board of directors were elected to succeed themselves, with the exception of Daniel Kirby. Alvin Buckliu having been elected to succeed Mr. Kirby, who could not act on account of the fact of his absence from the city. No action wsa taken by the stockholders, save that it was the sense of the meet ing that the matter of future work bo left entirely in the hands of the new ly elected board of directors. E. M. Sloccmb, received a letter to day from bis sou Ray Sloeomb. which says that the young man is sick in the hospital with an abscess on his leg mid a bad case of the mumps. While the young man seems quite ill from the tone of his letter his greatest sor row arises from the fact that his sick ness will deter him from going with the crew of his vessel on a six months cruise, which would have promoted him to a higher apprenticeship in Uncle Sam’s navy. The many young friends of Ray will bo glad to learn that he likes the navy and that the keenest regret he has is that he can not join his comrades in a long ex pected and anticipated cruise, on the bosom of the briny deep.
