It is not the banker but the deposit

FOR A GOOD CONVENTION
The call for the next demoeratic
county convention 1s published in
this issue. There was some talk of
holding two county conventions, one |
to elect delegates 10 other conven
tions and a later ovne to nominate
connty officers. However, A M.
Thomas, our county chairman sub
wmitted the idea to a referendum of
precinct committeeinen and they de
cided almost wnanimonsly for one
convention to wind up the whole
business
In crder to equalize representation
another dolegate bas been added 10
precinets 1,5 and 9 It will be
noted, alwo that precincts 4 and 16
at Crested Butte have been cousol- |
idated, although the upporlinued,
delegates remain the same. |
This convention on September Hth |
will determine not only delegates to
to the state convention on September
Nth, but the congressional, senatorial
and judicial convention, an there is
A congressman to nominate, a state
senator from 4mnison and Pitkin
connties and a district atlorney
from the Seventh Judicial Distriet.
But most important of its work will
be the nomination of a splendid
connty ticket. One that will keep
up the good work of our present |
democratic conuty officials, and be a
worthy companton for the state and |
national nominees There is plenty
of timber. Let every voter attend
the primaries and see that delegates
are sent to Gunnison who truly rep- |
resent yonr opinions,
