Knights of Columbus Are
Again on Lively.

On Easter Monday evening Prank-
fort Council, K. of C, celebrated
with an open session, to which the
Catholic men of the city were In
vited, that proved highly enjoyable
to the large number present. Inter
esting impromptu talks were made
by Lecturer H. F. Imtkemeier,
Orand Knight J. J. King, Rev.
Father Flynn and othera. Imme
diately after the social session a
buffet luncheon was served by the
Entertainment Committee. Thurs
day night Frankfort Council re
sumed its weekly series of euchre
dance parties with a good attend
ance. On Monday, April 7, the third
of the series of historical sketches
will be given. These historical
papers are creating widespread In
terest among the members and in
crease the attendance at meetings.
Several applications for membership
have been filed, and it is confidently
expected to have a class of thirty
five or forty for initiation by the
first of May. The Executive Com
mittee that will have charge of the
Fourth of July outing are at work
and promise to make this annual
event the greatest yet given.
WILL SF.IIVK REFRESHMENTS.
The Young Ladies' Sodality of St.
John's church will entertain with a
euchre and lotto next Wednesday
afternoon and evening at Trinity
Council Hall, Baxter and Morton
avenues, the afternoon games to be
gin at 1:80 and the evening games
at 8 o'clock. Coffee and sandwiches
will be aerved and entertainment
will be provided for those not desir
ing to participate In the games.

The Knights of Columbus cf
Frankfort are considering several
sites for the erection of a home of
their own, and It is probable that a
decision will be reached at an early
date. Plans for the building, which
have been submitted to the com
mittee, indicate that it will be one
of the finest K. of C. Home In
Kentucky,
POSTPONED.
The euchra and lotto party that
was to have been given at St.
Michael's Hall laat Tuesday after
noon and evening was postponed be
cause of the bad weather. It will
take place next Monday, when a
uumber of pretty awards will be
added. The proceeds will be for the
benefit of St. Michael's church.

Will Show Brilliant Peri
ods In Ireland's
History.
Plans have been completed for the
Irish historical pageant to be pro
duced by the American Committee
of the Gaelic League of Ireland on
the evenings of April 24 and 25 In
the Sixty-ninth Regiment Armory,
New York City. Justice Victor J.
Dowling, Treasurer of the commit
tee, reports that half the sum needed
to defray the expenses of the pro
duction already has been guaran
teed. The pageant will be divided
into three episodes, representing
brilliant periods in Ireland s history.

Columcille. The music, selected in
part from the old Irish airs and
supplemented with original lyrics, is
being orchestrated by Alfred O.
Robyn and Victor Herbert. Especial

old-time bards, as well as Irish wolf
hounds, long believed to be extinct,

FATHER HEALY.
The famous Father Healy, travel
ing on an English railway, once
found himself opposite a sour looking
Individual, who after making some
remark on the weather, proclaimed
himself an atheist. The priest merely
nodded his head, and then seemed
absorbed In his book.
The atheist, however, was bent on
having an argument, and he pro
ceeded to set forth hla opinions,
using expressions bordering on
coarseness. Finally Father Healy
looked up. "You, sir, as an atheist,
believe In nothing," said he quietly.
"I only believe what I can under
stand," replied the other.
"It comqa to the same thing."
said the priest blandly, and after
that be bad peace. Till the end of
tb. journey the professed atheist did
not venture another remark.
