er near the city About seven
years ago Mr Massie was stricken
with paralysis but recovered suf
ficiently to be out again Two
years thereafter he suffered a sec
ond stroke which rendered him
hejpless Since that time he had
been an invalid He was in the
81st year of his age and was born
in Louisa county Virginia He
moved to Kentucky when a young
man and for several years lived in
Todd county His wife died short
ly after the civil war His halt
sister Mr Harrelson lives in
New Providence Tenn He was a
member of the Christian church
