The time is near at hand when the farmers of the UniteH States will be r - -i i t ..r s X ui nibiiL'U easy uicmis in (mjiii iui their land or of buying more tarms to increase their .holdings. Keen inter est is being manifested in the inaugu ration of the. new rural credits law. The framers of .the law express the view that farmers will be quick to Like advar.tagj of the amortization pton provide! by the new act. The :term "ar.ioi i. ui..i" means a method of paying a Uo. i such manner as to .extinguish both principal and interest at the close of a given period. Under the new plan provided by ihe rural credits law, it will be possi ble for a farmer to borrow money on Ilis land and to take as many years as Jie may desire to pay off the loan. I rni i 'II 1 C it I ,me annual payments win ue oi mu isame amount and the last payment will liquidate the debt in full. Each annual payment, of course, will dis charge a part of the original debt. For instance, should a farmer, when ihe new law is in full operation, bor . row $1,000 at 5 per cent, interest, the annual interest charge would be $50. If flie borrower should pay only $50 a year, he never could reduce the orig inal awount of the loan. He would, oi course, continue to owe $1,000. I Under the amortization plan em- faxiied in this new piece of legislation 1 the farmer, should he pay $80.20 a year, or $30.24 more than the yearly interest charge, would pay his debt in full at the end of twenty years. In this way the loan of $1,000 actually avouUI be paid otf with $604.80 com puted simple interest at the rate of 5 percent a total payment of $1,004.80. It will be possible, it is asserted, un der the new law, for a farmer to bor row $1,000 or more on the same scale of repayment on an unrecallable con tract for twenty years at a rate of in- lerest a little above 3 per cent. i 'Provision is made in the new Law, M under which a borrower may choose ihe length of time he wishes his debt T.,m nrnvidfid the neriod is not iocs than five vears nor more than Jorty years. -Cim Kmnnt.wn officials believe Vhov Y.ave the anarchists who planted a suitcase uoinu mui wa"- rinumtmvn r.orner and killed nine and wounded more than forty rinrirur the preparedness paraue sat 7.1j.r Wsirrmi K.
