T. Selby, of Esto, was in this place a few days ago. Mr. "W. W. Abrell, Casey Creek, was fti Columbia a day or two of last week. Mr. Hugh Noe, of Campbellsville, was here Thursday. Mrs. G. V. Staples returned from Cincinnati Saturday night. Mrs. W. B. Grissom left this morn ing, on a visit, to Little Bock, Ark. Mrs. Lou W. Atkins left this morn ing for the .Louisville and Nashville millinery markets. Miss Dora Eubank returned last week from a pleasant visit to Somer set. Mr. Henry X. Miller, while yet con fined to his room, 'is reported improv ing. Mrs. "W". E. Bradshaw and little son, Edward, 'returned from Louisville last week. Miss Mary Williams, Montpelier, visited relatives and friends in Colum 'bia last week. Messrs. Walter Murrell and Felix Boyse left for Illinois the first of the week. Mr. W. T. McFarland lias so far re covered from hay fever as to be Able to come to town. Mr. Ernest narris left Monday for Georgetown college and will enter that institution to-day. Messrs. J. W. Ottley, Geo. Xell, Fred Myers, Harlan Shaw are i n Louisville -this week. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Coffey returned last Thursday night' from a pleasant visit to Ashley, 111. Mrs. Guy Feese, who lives in the suburbs of of town, is lying in a very critical condition. Mr. Lilburn Phelps returned to Co lumbia last week and will remain un til circuit court closes. Mr. Leslie Allen, of Bessemer, Ala., is spending a few weeks with his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Allen. Mr. and Mrs C. S. Harris and sev eral of their children will return from Virginia either to-day or to-morrow. Mr. A. A. nuddleston, State's At torney, arrived Monday morning and is now dealing with violaters of the law. Mr. Esco Stapp, who lives in Cham paign, -111. ,'is at home to recuperate. He has been quite sick for several months. Mr. F. B. Winfrey will be missed from the court room this week, as he is confined to his home with rheuma tism. Mr. Kotz Bledsoe, a native of Bus sell county, now a resident of Louis ville, was in Columbia for an nour or two Sunday. For your Inspection. Mr. Cosby McBeath, wife and two children, Monticello, are visiting Mrs. McBeath's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Jo X. Conover. Mr. Veston Tlolt, Jamestown, came to Columbia Wednesday and took pas sage in an auto for the circus at Campbellsville. Misses Mary Lucy and Leonora Lowe left last week for Danville, Ky., where they will attend The Kentucky College for Women. Mr. V. A. Garr, of Bradentown. Fla., a former resident o f Bussell county, was in Columbia Friday, en route to his home Dr. A. W. bliarp, Kepubiican can didate to represent Adair and Cum berland in the next Legislature, was in Columbia Monday. Mr. Robert Walker, Bradfordsville, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Walker, is visiting relatives and friends i n Columbia and Adair county. Mr. Swing Stults. the well-known ball player, reached home last week, a little ahead of time, but a felon on one of his fingers drove him in. Miss Lillie Judd, of this place, has accepted a position to teach in a col-1 lege at Hazard, Perry county, and left j Monday morning to take up school duties. Mr. R G. Woods, of Point Lick, was in Columbia last Thursday, en route to Bussell Springs, ne was formerly the cashier of the bank at that place. Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Barnett left for Mt. Vernon, 111., last week. Mr. Bar nett is a traveling salesman and his headquarters will be at the above named city. Mesdames J. II. Gott', Grover Gris som, Sam Barbee, Walker Bryant, and Misses Pearl Hindman and Mary B. Feese attended the circus at Camp bellsville, last Wednesday. Mr. Leon Lewis left one day last week for Louisviile where he expected i to obtain employment. He is an hon est, industrious young man, and he has the best wishes of this entire town Mr. and Mrs. Junius Rogers andlit tleson, George Adams, of Brooksville, Fla., who have been visiting Mr Bogers' parents in Greensburg for the past two months, spent Monday in Columbia. Mr. John A. Harris, who has been in school at Bowling Green, returned home last week, remained a few days, then left for Columbia, Tennessee, where he will teach in a commercial college. Mr. M. T. Smith, after spending several weeks in Columbia, has return ed to his home in Beadville, North Carolina From there he will go to Temple Hill University, North Car olina, to resume his law course. Mrs. S. M. Haynes and daughter, Miss Opal naynes, of San Antonia, Texas, were in this place last Wednes day, en route to their home after a pleasant visit to relatives in Russell county, where they resided before go ing to Texas. B. O. Willis and family left last Tuesday mornining to visit his sister, Mrs. N. W. Miller, at Campbellsville, for a few days, after which he will re turn to his home at Beardstown, 111. Mr. Willis left Adair county nine years ago. Mr. N. B. Falkenburg and Mr. Car son Falkenburg, formerly of James town, were in Columbia Sunday, en route to Bishop, Texas. They will re main in the Lone Star State, but when here had nob decided upon a location They 'arc both elegant gentlemen. Mr. Walter Ingram has just return ed from the market. Mr. II. C. Feese left for Louisville this morning, on business. Mr. Jeff -Henry, of the Greensburg bar, is attending court here. Miss Golda English, who has been quite sick, is reported better. Mr. Clay Sullivan, jailer of Russell county, was here at the opening of court. Mr. Leslie Staples, deputy post master is absent from business on ac count of a sore foot. Miss Ella Walker, accompanied by her mother, left this morning to en ter college at Lexington. Mr. Robert Pierce, a former citizen of this county, but now of Mason City, 111., is visiting friends and rel atives here. Mr. George Montgomery will leave to-day for Bradentown, Fla., where he has a position in an abstract office. He is a young man of good character, capable and there is not a doubt but he will do his work well. Additional Locals.
