The major portion of the corn crop in this section is in the crib. Our farmers are reporting a good yield. Chrisman Powell- and family of Roosevelt county, N. M. , are visiting relatives in this neigh borhood. Mr. Powell reports that all of the ex-Adair countians of his acquaintance in New Mex ico are making good. Uncle Dick Aken recently made a very enjoyable visit to the land of his birth, namely, the Bakerton vicinity. Mr. Aken reports that the grim reap er has taken most of the friends of his youth and modern im provements has left but little to remind him of "The scenes of his childhood. Noah Lawhorn. of this vicin ity, and Miss Nancy Floyd were married, on the 14th, Rev. Geo. W. Collins-officiating. The bride is a daughter of John Floyd, of Crocus, and the groom is a Spanish-Amerian war veteran and has been living for some time with his brother, Jas. D. Lawhorn, of this neighborhood. Several real estate deals have been made in this community recently. J. D. Lawhorn swap ped his place on Tracefork to a part of J. Z. Collin's Davis place. James Morgan sold his farm to Loren Collins for $400, and Har din Aaron sold said Jas. Morgan back his old home for $425. I keep on hands a full stock of coffins, caskets, and robes.
