The people here are up-to-date farm ers and are now enjoying the great wave if prosperity to which they are entitled for the honest and energetic labors they have performed in culti vating the soil. They-realize that ev ery thing they have to sell brings nigh and remunerative prices, and therefore they are in a gleeful mood. Thefuture seems bright, as "coming events cast their shadows before." The Green river valley is noted focthe fertlity of its soil and the hospitality of its citizens. Some time ago we vis ited our old friend John Knmey, and the reception we received was cordial in the highest degree. Every member of his family is debonair and his beau tiful daughters are not surpassed in Adair county for their accomplish ments and popularity.- If you should pass John Knifley and want a good dinner, call at his house and be hospi tably received. When you come to the South side of Green river you will meet the Williams boys, Millers," Reed and others, wn"o"will gladly welcome you to their domiciles. Pass to Mont Harmon's and you find an energetic" farmer, whose hospitality is unbound ed. W. E. Kriffley comes next, and you may rest assured, you wi 1 meet a genial and prosperous farrrer, who can entertain you in a supers manner. P. P. Wesley, one of the -best men of this section, and who owns one of the best farms in Adair county ill always receive you with a facetious smile.
