Teachers Examination An examination of teacher for city and rural rchools will he held on the third Friday and Saturday in June (June 17-18). Three lists of questions for this examination will be eent out from State Superintendent's oflicc,and the answer papers will be return ed to the state office for pradiug tnd the issue of certificates. The elementary list includes the usual twelve elementary sub jects, and the elementary certify icate qualifies for teaching in the eight elementary grades below high school. Teachers expecting to teach in the cities of the first four classes are not required to be examined in Agriculture. If they wish to use their certificates for rural school work they will then be required to qualify in that remaining subject. The High School list of ques tions includes ten High School subjects, as follows: General Sci ence, General History, American History and Civics, Arithmetic, Algebra, Plane Geometry, Gram mar and Composition, Ilitearture and first year Latin, and Theory and Practice of teaching. The high school certificate qualifies for both elementary and high 6chool teaching. Applicants for this certificate must be at least 18 years of age. The state Certificate list in eludes the twelve elementary subjects, also algebra and litera ture. Applicants for this certifi cate must have taught at least two years and be at least twenty one years of age. Little Miss Lucille Wills, of Cain creek, was the guest of her grandmother, Mrs. J. M. Conlee last week. ' Miss Pauline Martin, the five year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cland Martin, stuck a rusty nail in her foot and is suffering very much. Matt and Vina Henningfield were in Clay City Saturday and Sunday visiting their sister, Mrs. Topher Daniel and Mr. Daniel, and attended the show there Saturday. Among those who attended the show at Clay City were: Fieldon Townsend, George Martin, Maney Foster, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Bran denburg, and daughter, Hazel, and Miss Frances Brandenburg and others we didn't learn. The United States Civil Ser vice Commission has announced an examination to oe neia at Lombard, Ky. on June 2."3, 1!21 as a result of which it is expect ed to make certification to fill a contemplated vacancy in the po sition of fourth-class postmaster at Lombard and other vacancies as they may occur at this office, unless it shall be decided in the interests of the service to fill the vacancy by reinstatement. The compensation of the postmaster at this office was $247 for the last fiscal year. Applicants must have reached their twenty-first birthday on the date of the examination. Applicants must reside within the territory supplied by the post office for which the examination is announced.
