BOOSTER EDITION.
"When the parcel post went into effect January 1st, many of our
local merchants fearing that it would materially effect their business
suggested to the management of this paper that they get out a special
booster paper showing the many advantages of trading here at home
rather than sending away for their goods, etc. With this in mind we
contracted with Mr. W. H. Ward, of New York, who has been here
for the past week and who will issue some time during the early part
of February a booster booklet giving a history of Mt. Sterling, illus
trated with cuts of the government building, court house, nublic school,
depot, n few street scenes, tobacco warehouses and a number of the
stores of progressive merchants. If you merchants believe our city
to be one of the best in the Blue Grass and that you can and will fur
nish your wares as good arid as cheap as they can be bought elsewhere
then enroll yourselves on the boosters' list and let the people of Mont
gomery and adjoining counties know it. "Judicious advertising is
the Keynote to success."
DAN J. HOLLEARN.
Having been a Democrat all of his life, a resident of the county
for thirty-two years and never having cast a vote out of Montgomery
county and given the purty the best service he could render since
reaching his majority, Mr. Dan J. Hollearn now asks the party to
honor him with the Democratic nomination for County Jailer at the
State Primary August 2, 1913. lie has never held un office within
the gift of the people, but has served as Special Policeman of the City
of Mt. Sterling on many occasions always with entire satisfaction and
therefore knows, in a way, the duties of Jailer. He is a genial, whole
souled, kind hearted gentleman and should he be so fortunate as to
secure the ollice to which he aspires we believe will make the people
a j efficient and painstaking olliciul. We present the name of this
worthy Democrat with pleasure and trust that the voters will give his
Claims all the consideration that are due them.
JOE W. LANGSTON.
With his permission we place in our columns the name of Mr.
Joe W. Langston as a candidate for the Democratic nomination for
Jailer of Montgomery County, subject to the action of the State Pri
mary August 2, 1913. Mr. Langston is not a new nun in politics
having once served as City Jailer or Warden and as far as we know
gave perfect satisfaction. Ho is therefore familiar with the duties of
the office for which he aspires, and should ho bo honored by election
to the office of Jailer we feel conlident that he will give the county
good, conscientious service. Ho has always been a loval party worker
and believes that his services to the party deserve the reward ho is
asking for. It gives us pleasure to present his claims to the Demo
crats and we ask that tlioy lie given duo consideration.

Walter Jones In "BaDy Mliic."
Manager Wilkerson 'announces
that he has completed arrange
ments with William A. Brady,
Ltd., whereby the production of
"Baby Mine" will be presented nt
the Tabb Opera House Friday.
Jan. 31st, with Walter Jones in
his original chnracter of "Jimmy"
as played by him in New York
City over 450 times.
This necessarily means a great
deal to theatre-goers of this city,
inasmuch as Mr. Brady is sending
the Company Inch has played al
most continously for an entire
year at Daly's Theatre, New York.
The thread of human interest
and roaring fun, from a seeming
ly endless vent, so offered in the
sensational comedy "Baby Mine,"
is the reason of its utter success.
The profound praise from people
in all walks of life, who enjoy
sterling fua and laughter, has im
mediately followed the presenta
tion of the comedy in this country
and, London. "Baby Mine" is
surrounded by everything to cre
ate continuous merriment, and
good natured mirth and literal
comedy luxuriate throughout the
play. Enthusiasm is aroused at
the start, with the unfolding of
conditions occasioned by a very
young, prevaricating, but innocent
wife. Energetic humor and voci
ferous laughter are the important
facts at all times. The rachina
tions and manipulations of well
meaning but ill-advisod friends of
the young wife, who has been
awakened to the importance of
"sweet motherhood," to bring
about a reconcilliation with a self
exiled husband, generate many
supremely amusing and side-splitting
conditions.
