AGENTS RIGHT TO SELL
For the first time since July 1,
when wartime prohibition went into
effect, whisky openly was sold in
Louisville last Thursday without in
terference by the federal; author
ities. The sales were made by two Lou
isville distilleries from their tax paid
floor stocks under1 the protection
of a temporary injunction issued by
Federal Judge Walter Evans, but in
the face of a government -warning
that if the Supremp Court finds war
time prohibition constitutional pros
ecutions were possible.
The action of Judge Evans appar
ently attracted wide attention. Many
messages were received abking for
c,opics of briefs and arguments in
the case, in -which the court, in ef
fect, held -wartime prohibition un
constitutional and upheld an attnek
upon .the Volsted enforcement - apt..
