Deaihside Remark That is
Moral Warning.
A remark fraught with wisdom was
uttered 'under tragic circumstances by
a New York physician a 6liort time
ago. He was called to tlio bodsldo of
n young man ot flue family who had
just ended his life by putting a bul
let through his heart. The doctor was
a family physician and had known the
youth for years. He shook his head
sadly as he raised the lifeless hand
and let it drop.
"He was a hoy of brains," ho said,
"but he had too much money ever to
amount to anything."
That waB tho root of the evil in this
case, as it is in so many others. Tlio
young man had a sett led Income. l
turned his mind from work. He led
the life of an idler. He had no nnihi
tion, no pride. He dawdled here and
there, he became a lounger about the
aters, he picked up acquaintances who
wero a damage to him. And, finally,
when ho tired of it all, he resorted lo
the revolver and brought tho worth
less game to an end.
"He had too much money ever to
amount to anything," said the family
doctor, Riid it is a remark rich In mor
al warning. Cleveland Plain Jealer.
