Mr. Myriek received only a few voles less than till his opposition combined, but when the vote was all In. it developed that no candidal e would be nominated by reason of the peculiar ruling. The Myriek men did not stop when the election day had passed, but went on and captured the precinct convention that nit?ht. This insured the selection of only Myriek delegates to the coun ty convention nnd consequently, only Myriek delegates to the representa tive convention. Mr. Hordages, Mr. Howen's supporter, 'was finally put. on the county deluKation but that had no reference to the Rett is fight except that the general effort was 1o defeat Myriek In any way possible. The convention was called by the district chairman. '' When the hour arrived it appeared that Ihe Orange county delegation, to cast three votes, numbered ' fourteen, while Ihe Jefferson delegation to cast seven votes numbered, only six. The Orange people wnl 'd their fourteen to domi nate and elect the temporary chair man, regardless of tlieir smaller vote, but here the fight started and result ed in the election ot R. A.
