FINANCIAL. STOCKS IRREGULAR. Industrials Were Firmer, but Railways Made but Little Headway. New York, October 10. There was a sluggish response to the accumula tion of various factors favorable to values of securities in today's marKct. The industrials, ami especially the iron and steel stocks, were lifted out of this indifference during the course of the day, but the railroad stocks made but little headway. Some of the Southwesterns were firm on account of the general expectation that, the government estimates of conditions on October 1 be published after the close of the market would dissipate the impression of some unofficial es timates of the extra damage by frosts in the past month. A rather ragged showing of trivial gains ami losses mixed was the net result of tho day, with the closing heavy. Bonds were irregular. Total sales, par value, $3,090,000.
