Miss Hazel Wheeler was driving near Howe's meat market Monday afternoon, when, in turning, the sleigh struck the sidewalk, throwing Miss Wheeler out. The horse started to run. going the length of Shafter street, down the hill toward the Luddington Wooden ware factory, across the bridge and up West Main street, striking the sleigh against a telephone pole and shattering the body of the sleigh. The running part of the sleigh was left iu front of Tnnis Courte manehe's blacksmith shop. - The horse continued on through the square in the center of the village, being stopped at Francis Sprague's blacksmith shop. There will be a Christmas tree for the children. Every one "is invited. Owing to illness of the teacher, the Xo. R school held Christmas exercises Dec. 10. The school room presented a lovely sight with Christmas greens a.nd tree laden with goodies and gifts. for all. The program . consisted of recitations, dia logues and carol singing by school and visitors. Each child had made a match scratcher and holder for parents and good neighbor furnished oranges for -the children. The suct'css of the entertain ment wan due to the untiring efforts of the teacher.
