They are an infallible medicine for Female Com plaints generally, and especially for removing those obstructions which are the source of their ailments at certain pci io Is, they possess the eminent advan tages over most other purgatives, that while they operate gently, they produce neither coslivencss, debility, or too great excitement. Whenever there is a predisposition to receive dis ease from marsh effluvia, or from a too copious use of ardent spirits or from a vitiated state of the bile, these pills will assuredly counteract it. They are highly recommended to travellers, by sea or land, and may be made use of with safety without change of diet and in situations where no exetcisecan be used. They will be found particu larly valuable for preventing diseases incidental to hot climates, they deteree and cleanse vicid hu mors, open obstructions, and promote the secretion of good bile, operate as an easy cathartic as a pow erful diuretic, and as a diaphoretic. Dr. Dvott, under the strong conviction of the power of his pills, to relieve the afflicted, recom mends the use of them to those who are in health as well as the afflicted, at least once a fortnight, I during the Spring and Summer months, in which lie feels assured those who attend to his advice will j find the benefit they seek. Dow & Co. J '•'In list number of our new paper will be issued on the first day of May next, with nn entire new dress—new typo, fine white paper, with other im portant alterations and improvements. The paper will bu devoted to a fearless exposition of Demo cratic principles; it will zealously and unremit tingly oppose each and every cflorl to establish a mammoth monarchy batik and other mischievous corporations and consolidations of wealth, which subvert the rights of the people and undermine the pillars of the Uebuhlic ; it will oppose an oppres sive and anti-republican tariff system, the assump tion of the State debts by the General Government, and all other federal principles which have nn in evitable tendency to destroy public prosperity as well as individual happiness. Against all such po litical delusions, we shall wage unchanging, un compromising war. The Farmer and the Mechanic who produce all the real capital of the nation, will find in our pa per nn unwavering champion of their inalienable rights ; the long cherished principles of the edi tors tire too well known to the public to require any pledge upon this point. To the Miscellaneous Department particular attention will lie devoted ; the Ladies will nlwavs find in our columns a choice selection from the current literature of the day, a well as original contributions from the most tain ented writers of which our country can boast. A general summary of Foreign and Domestic news will be furnished. 1 he conductuis have already secured the aid and co-opeintion of a largo number of the most distin guished literary and political writers of the day ; arrangements will also be made, at the earliest pe riod possible, to embellish oureolumns by the con tribitlions of correspondents from abroad. With this brief and imperfect outline of our plan, w c very respectfully submit our claims to an exten sive patronage to the consideration of a generous public. THEOPIIILUS FISK, > JESSE E.
