Constitution, which was established and heretofore published by the subscribers in the City of Washington, will, on and alter Monday, the 1st day of December next, be removed to and published in the City of Haiti’ more. The Constitution is devoted to the support of the principles of that instrument from which it borrows the name, and opposes whatever is not sanctioned by if- It considers a National Bank—a Protective Tariff—Internal Improvements by the General Go vernment— Distribution of the proceeds of the sales of the Public Lands—Assumption of the debts of the State.s—Abrogation of the Executive Veto— aa unconstitutional and inexpedient. On the great and vital question in all Governments—Taxation— if will advocate as heretofore the imposition of du ties for revenue alone—opposing a tariff for pro \v°n aa unjust* oppressive, and unconstitutional. 've hope to make the paper worthy of the con fidence and snpport of the Democratic party of Ma ryland and of the country. It shall be the faithful expositor of their principles, and the ever ready medium to cmvey their sentiments and wishes to the public. The Democratic enuse is the cause of ft nth and justice. It courts the light. It shuns no investigation. And we are determined to see whether a paper, conducted with a devotion to the principles, rather than to the men, of our party—to further the great cause, of human progress, rather man the mere advancement of particular individu als —will not commend itself to the confidence and favor of the people. B is known that, in our politics! principles, wc are entirely and thoroughly Democratic. Of this, wc trust that wc have already afforded sufficient evidence; and that we have also given some ear nest of the temper and spirit with which wc sustain ° m ^.r*n.c'P*es and opinions. f a, ,v'nI that the present Administration will .family carry out the principles and the policy of c Democratic party, wc shall continue most cor mily anj earnestly to support all its measures ending to this end.
