DU. DYOTT’S ANTI- BILIOUS P1LL9 As a family medicine, a mild aud gentle I [>8rfiit(ve and a purifier of tl»e blood. The gen eral u<o of these celebrated Hills throughout the United States, for these forty years past, and the ttrmg recommendations they have acquired from all Class •* of our fellow citizens, places them in a much more elevated situation In public estimation, than any other remedy which has heretofore been introduced. The following are among the many diseases for which Dr. Dyott’s celebrated Pills arc so deserved ly distinguished for curing, lty (heir counteract ing properties i* removing the bil« from the stom ach‘they prevent and cure the bilious fever; chills or ague "and fever ; spring and fall fevers; yellow fever; bilious cholic ; pleurisy ; dysentery; worms; bilious vomiting , sick and foul stomach. By cleaning the bowels and stomach from all im purities, they restore the loss of appetite, remove flat ulency, care the headache, habitual costiveness, colds, coughs, asthma, epeliptic fits, hypochondria, hysterical complaints, stransguary, gravel, &c. By a general and copious use they will be found I very beneficial in curing the rheumatism and gout, lumbago or pains in the bach. All impurities in the blood yield to their happy effects, whether pro ceeding Irotn constitutional ailment or from indis creet intemperance. These celebrated pills have been used to very great advantage, in curing the dyspepsia or indi gestion, bronchitis, liver complaint, &c. They are an infallible medicine for Female Com plaints generally, and especially for removing those ■obstructions which are the source of their ailments at ce.rtain perioiht, they possess the eminent advan tages over most other purgatives, that while they operate gently, thoy produce neither costivouesn, debility, or too great excitement. Whenever there is a oredisnosition to receive dis ease from marsh cfflnvia, or from a too copious use of ardent, spirits or from a vitiated stntcoflhc bile, these pills will assuredly counteract it. They arc highly recommended to travellers, by sea or land, and inay be made uae of with safety without change of diet and in situations where no exercise can be used. They will be found particu larly valuable for preventing diseases incidental to hot climates, they deterge and cleanse vicid hu mors, open obstructions, and promote the secretion of good bile, operate as an easy cathartic as a pow erful diuretic, and as a diaphoretic. Dr. Dvott, under the strong conviction of the power of his pills, to relieve the afflicted, recom mends the use of them to those who are in health as well as the afflicted, at least once a fortnight, during the Spring and Summer months, in which ho feel# assured those who attend to his advice will find the benefit they seek. GREATLY REDUCED P RICE-FRO.vT^Tto $3 PER ANNUM. SINGLE COPY 25 CENTS. PROSPECTUS OF THE NEXT (or 17th) VOL. 11HE price of the Democratic Review has here . tofore been too high—not for its size, cost, and character, but for the means of tens of thousands of readers who would be glad to receive it, and among whom it ia highly desirable that it should circulate. For the purpose therefore, of largely widening the range of its usefulness, and of multi plying the numbers of those to whom it may be ac cessible, it has been determined, simultaneously with the great reduction in the expense of the post age. to reduce ita subscription price also, from Five to only Three dollars; aud when several unite in subscription, to as low as .£2 50, or even $2 30 per annum. This very large reduction in the receipts (accom panied with but a comparatively small diminution of its expenses) involves, of course, an entire sac rifice of profit upon it, unless compensated by a vast multiplication of its subscribers. There will he at the outset only a small reduction in its num ber of pages ; soon to be restored to ita old number, without increase of price, when the anticipated success of the experiment shall justify it. The. Portraits or Distinguished Democrats will he continued —engraved in belter and more costly style than heretofore The Postage will hereafter, for any distance, be only five and a half cents; it has heretofore been, for over 100 miles, eighteen cents. W4 look for an extension of circulation to be reckoned by tens of thousands, as the result and compensation of this great reduction of price.— Every friend of the work, and of the Democratic principles nnd cause, is confidently appealed to to exert himself with an active interest to procure it subscribers ; both to extend its usefulness, and to carry it successfully through the crisis of this great reduction of its receipts. Those who have paid in advance for the coming year, will receive it, at the reduced rate, for a year and a half. TERMS HENCEFORWARD. (INVARIABLY IN ADVANCE.) Hereafter, this must be wholly reformed ; nor must cither the most eminent political friend, or the most intimate personal one, be displeased on experiencing its ap plication, in .the stoppage of their numbers, if they neglect this rule ; the vital necessity of which, at the present reduced rates, must be obvious to all. July 31 PROPOSALS For publishing in the City of Washington, a new daily, setni-weekly, and weekly, Democratic Republican paper, to be enti tled THE UNITED STATES JOURNAL, by Jesse E. Dow & Co. The. fist number of oar new paper will be issued on the first day of May next, with an entire new dresa—new type, fine white paper, with other im portant alterations and improvements. The paper will be devoted to a fearless exposition of Demo cratic principles; it will zealously and unremit tingly oppose each and every effort to establish a mammoth monarchy bank and other mischievous corporations and consolidations of wsalth,.which subvert the rights of the people and undermine ths pillars of the Rebublic; it will oppose an oppres sive and anti-republican tariff system, the assump tion of the State debts by the General Government, and all other federal principles which have sn in evitable tendency to destroy public prosperity as well as individual happiness. Against all such po litical delusions, we shall wage unchanging, un compromising war. The Farmer and the Michapic who produce all the real capital of the nation, will find in qur na per an unwavering champion of their inalienable rights; the long cherished principles of the edi tors are too well known to the public to require any pledge upon this point. To the Miscellaneous Department particular attention will he devoted ; the Ladies will always find in our columns a choice selection from the current literature of the day, a well as original contributions from the most tali enmd writers of which our country can boast. A gesfwhl summary of Foreign and Domestic news will oe furnished. The conductois have already secured ths aid and co-operation of a largo number of the most distin guished literary and political writers of the day ; arrangements will also be mad*, at the earliest pe riod possible, to embellish our columns by the con tributions of correspondents from abroad. With this brief and imperfect outline of our plan, w« very respectfully submit our claims to an exten sive patronage to the consideration of a generous public. THEOPHILUS FISK, JESSE E.
