Va., for his homo in Charlotte, lie was nin.king the trip horseback, and had a led horse with him. lie was seen In Stnunton on December 27th. lie has never been seen since. lie lins not been heard from. Petersburg, Va., April 28.?West? bound passenger train No. 33, on tho Norfolk and Western railroad, due here about 10 o'clock p. in., was Wrecked to? night about four miles cast of tho city. The locomotive was overturned on the main track and literally wrecked, as was also the ti nder. The baggage and mail cars, tho passenger coaches and pleeprr rnn through a ba_rbed__ wire fence Into an open field for n distance of about three hundred yards, and all but the sleeper were wrecked. Mr. Crannls, the engineer, and his fireman stood heroically at their posts and were not injured. They crawled out of the wreck through the window of the loco? motive.
