Nichiren Buddhist church was de-i
curated with standards of white cal-1
la lilies and stock for the wedding
of Miss Dorothy Iwata. daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Hideto Iwata. and Mr.
George Kobata, son of Mr. John
Maseru Kobata, last Sunday after
noon The Rev. K. Ikuta officiated
at the 4 o’clock service.
The bride wore a gown of white
lace and satin on princess lines with
a fitted satin bodice and pointed
collar and long sleeves of lace. The
full skirt with panels of lace fell in
to a long train. A fingertip veil of
illusion was attached to a tulle half
hat. The bride carried a bouquet
of white orchids surrounded by ste-

Methodist
Easter Breakfast
Kazzie Murakami. ticket chair
man. has announced that the Eas
ter Breakfast tickets are now avail
able from the different groups of
the Japanese Methodist church.
This annual Easter Breakfast. will
be at 7:30 am. Sunday, April 18, in
the church basement. General
chairman is Aiko Matsuda of the
social life committee. Tickets are
only fifty cents for adults and twen
ty-five cents for children. The
Wesleyans will prepare the break
fast.
Hobby Night ‘
The first Hobby Night at the Me-i
thodist church will begin at 8 p.m.i
Friday, April 9. in the church base-i
ment. On the program will be the
fundamentals of golf under the di
rection of Frank Hattori. The pu
blic is cordially invited. A small
fee will be taken for each hobby ses
sion. Marianne Urakawa is presi
dent of the sponsoring Wesleyans
and Bob Sato is adviser.
New Counselor Added
Ken Murase. assistant professor
in the Graduate School of Social
Work at the University of Washing
iton. has been added to the Metho
‘dist church staff as a counselor. He
will giva free consultation to per
sons wishing advice on personal.

The leei Women’s Fellowship of
the Japanese Congregational church
will hold its April meeting from 8
pm. Friday. April 9. in the home of
Mrs. Joe Fujlta, 139 23rd Ave. S.
Mrs. Paul Shlgaya will demon
strate hat-making techniques after
the regular business session. Every
one ls asked to bring either a. felt or
straw hat.

wore an ankle length gown of pink‘
rice paper with a strapless bodice
and an attached stole. Her bouquet.
was of dark pink carnations‘
Bridesmaids. the Misses May Ma
tsumoto and Yuriko Nakamoto. wore
gowns similar to the honor attend
ant's in dark lavender. They had
light pink carnation bouquets. All
the attendants wore matching flo
wers in their hair.
Mayumi Sakuma. the groom’s
niece. served as flower girl in a
pink frock and carried a bouquet of
stephanotis, pink roses and white
carnations.
Ring bearer was Master Raymond
Iwata. the bride‘s brother.
Mr. Jim Yoshinaka was the best
man and the Messrs John Fuji! and
Paul Ima were the ushers.
Vocalist Mrs. Yae Niimi sang
“With This Ring," accompanied by
Miss FlorenCe .Chikata.
For the ceremony, the bride’s mo
ther was attired in a cocoa lace
dress with a white orchid corsage.
The reception was held in the
China Lane Restaurant with Messrs
TSUyoshi Korekiyo and Terumitsu
‘ Kano presiding. Assisting were Miss
Irene Yamauchi. guest book; Miss

Orange Sherbet
1 cup chilled milk 1-1/2 teaspoons grated orange peel
1 cup orange juice 1 package ltoyal instant Coconut
Cream Pudding
Measure milk, orange jmce and grated orange peel into deep.
1 quart mixing bowl. Empty package contents on top of mixture
and beat with rotary eeg beater until smooth, about 1 minute. Pour
into refrigerator freezing tray and set control for fast freezing.
Freeze until mixture is firm (2-3 hours). Turn control back to nor
mal for storage. Makes 11/: pints.
