Statistics (or eleven months completed by the health bureau show but G2S deaths, while in the same eleven months of a year ago there were Gil deaths. On a basis of population of 42,000. the dosth rate for the eleven months 13 41.95 per thousand against a death rate of 15.46 for the eleven months of July 1. 1913, to May 31, 1914, the last previous published statement of the health bureau and likewise an eleven month period. In the eleven months of this year, June carried tlio highest number of deaths, 75, with September next with 72 deaths. May with 3G deaths is the low month of the year. i ' Bad Fire. CLARKSBUI1G?One or tlio pump houses of the Hope Natural Gas Co.'s big pumping station at Hastings, on the Short Line railroad was practi cally ruined by Are Sunday night. Lo cal officials of tlio company say that no estimate of the damage can yet be made, but it ran up into tbo thou sands of dollars. The plant consisted of three largo buildings and a few small ones. One is a gasolene plant, another a steam motive power plant and the third, which was ruined by lire, was a gas pumping and gasolene engine plant. Most of the machinery was damaged by fire.
