Prospects were never brighter hero for a banner year and Director Pyle Is anxious to take advantage of this state of affairs. Unless there is a hitch in present arrangements West Virginia will bo seen in the big intercollegiate meet which is held in Pittsburgh every spring in which six or seven colleges are represented. It was the intention to enter this meet last spring, but ow ing to the fact that no track was avail able here at that time it was thought best to wait until this year. NOW ON WITH SEVERAL COL LEGES. ARRANGEMENTS ARE NOW COM PLETE FOR THE TRY-OUT DEBATE. BUCKHANNON, Dec. ,17.?(Spe cial.)?It was given out yesterday by Secretary McQualn, ot the Wesl'eyan Oratorical Association, that Wesley an would have sonio strong debating teams on her floor this year, ami per haps send two teams away from home. U. of P. has offered to debate Wesley an on the home floor, and after 'con sidering this before the association It was decided to take this up in view to reaching an agreement with the Pittsburgh boys where they would ap pear In Buckhannon this year. So this debate Is practically assured, then there are arrangements well advanc ed to have a triangular debato !>? tween Marietta College, Bethany Col lege and Weslevan, this is also very near settled, as Wesleyan has been meeting those colleges for the last several years in debate, ana there 13 not much at Issue Then It comes to arranging a debato with them. It is likely that Pitt will be met In April on the Wosleyan floor and the trian gular debate will be staged about May 1. Arrangements are already almost complete for the try-out debate, which will bo held In January and in this the several teams will be selected by competeut Judges. The material tills year is abundant and there arc sev eral old men back In school, 'l'hcy are Falirlan, of Pickens, and Smith, of Fairmont, who did not debate last year because of heavy work, but who will try for the teams this year, bol'i being on the teams of 1913. Work man, of Citie, and Shumaker, of Uuck hannon, who were 011 the 1914 teams, and several other good men who were In school last year, and also several that have come In this year who have shown marked ability, will be eligible. Some of these are liobbitt. of Webster Springs; Brown, of Grafton; Post, of Buckhannon; Morrison, of Becklcy; ?Fisher, of Dav!?; Coger, of Webster Springs; Hinklo, of Buckhannon, an>1 several others.
