These parcels of books go forth to
' all parts of the world, whereever the
British soldier Is lighting. Malta received
7,000 a month, 13asrah 9,000,
Alexandria 3,000, Salonika 2,000 and
even units in East Africa, Italy and
Russia are supplied. The Admiralty
requested tho library lo supply every
sailor in the fleets with a book.
Urgent summons often are received
and when Gallipoli was filling the hospitals
a cable message came "send
25,000 books at once, light and good
print." The other day a request came
from Boulogne and within an hour and
a half 3,000 books had been sent in
