The well drilled In by the Pittsburg ! Foundaries Company on the property at 01as8port, up the Monongahela river Ib causing some excitement. It is i now known that the well got its production In the sixth sand and is producing eight barrels a day. Leasing town lots has been quite active, and on one lora' parties are getting in rig material for a well to be started at once. Several other town lot locations have been made. Discovery o( oil in the sixth sand Is not a new discovery up that way. John A. Snee was the pioneer in the discovery of oil in that section and completed a number of light wells, tome of which are still producing. However, the well complet ed a few weeks ago at Glassport is the ifrst to find production In that im- ' mediate locality. In the vicinity of East McKeesport ' there is some new work under way ' -and atarting. This work is started with a view to getting gas. Quite a flurry was occasioned in that section a few years ago bv drilling in an enor mous gas well estimated at 50,000.000 cubic feet a day. Within a few months | after its completion the gas became exhausted and the well abandoned. Up the Allegheny river, in the Harmersville district. Allegheny county, Hlrsche & Co.. drilled in a good fifth sand producer late last year. The well started off at better than 100 barrels a day, and has been holding up very creditably. It la located on the Locke farm, and several wells are now drilling and others are starting in that vicinity. Tho territory lies south of the fifth sand development east of the Dorseyvllle field In Indiana township. In the opinion of some the chances for a fifth sand pool are very promising. In Greene township. Beaver county, new work i^ well under way in the i vicinity or Williams & Co's. producer on the little Sullivan farm. The former grand duke who is a brother in law of the former Emperor continued "I do not ask the allies to fight for us. We merely ask them to Keep ortler in the terrfory wrested from Bolshevism by the G^ernment already fighting the Soviets. "I came here in January in an attempt to help my country as a private citizen acquainted with conditions in Russia.
