In fact the property which the Wells boys are reported to have sold to the Guggenhelms, through Thomas Aitken, was discovered at least eight years ago, and some work done on it. The locators were Curley Hickman and a partner, the former being now a resi dent of Cordova. They were in the Broad Pass country and located the claims now known as the Wells prop erty in 1906, and after doing the as sessment work on the claims abandon ed them because of their remoteness from transportation. Hater the claims were re-located by the Wells brothers, and with the prospect of transporta ■ tion the claims have acquired consid erable value. j Notwithstanding there have been some adverse reports coming out from that section, the Broad Pass country i is attracting much attention from i | prospectors and investors. It is re | ported that there are fully one liun ! dred persons at Knik waiting for con j ditions favorable for travel so thnl J (hey may go to that section eit'ier *o | prospect or to look over the grou id with a view to investing In some of I the proper'ies already located. So far no high grade finds have been reported, the claims located covering immense ledges of low grade ore. Most of these ores are base, requiring smelter ^treatment to separate the precious metals, but with transporta tion facilities at a reasonable cost, which it is anticipated the govern ment railroad will supply, these prop erties can be operated on a large scale at extremely low cost, and, it is ex pected, will yield enormously. -:o: Marked reductions in staple gro ceries—Call and get our prices O'Neill & Slater Co. --:o: MASONIC INSTALLATION The annual installation of officers of Mt.
