Instead of being attended by a stampede of other State convention, only a few have followed suit with instruc tions, while moat of them, partic ularly the South which wrh ex-pectt-d to respond promptly and liberally, have remained neutral or nndecided as far as instructions are concerned. Thin attitude of the South in somewhat unexpected and in giving the friends of Judge Parker no little concern, for if the two-thirds rule is adhered to there is no aeurance that he can land I the nomination without a contest when the convention asaemblea The South is the bulwark of na tional democracy, and while not claiming either of the candidates will certainly be the potential fac tor in naming them and furnish ing most of the votes for their election. Ye regard it as essen tial for the candidate to be a strong, conservative man, identified with ibe sentiment of the Eastern De mocracy, and if Jud;e Parker can arrive or ore nearly than any other to filling that measure, then he is our choice, but Southern conventions are not binding them aelves in such manner as to pre vent taking advantage of a more available candidate if circum stances should develop one. The appearance of David B. Hill o conspicuously in the interest of Judge Parker eeems to cast h damper on his canae, and has had much to do with retarding his boom." The Hearst movement is till u vnry lively affair, and is said to In scheduled for au active part in the Aliesieeippi conveution when it as sembles, chaperoned by the Mc Lanrin influence, as stated in re cent press disimtches. This will f course bring on a contest by a strong element that has been all ihe whilo opposed to Senator M Lauriu, and instructions for the two foremost candidates wilt be sought by their respective cham pions. Up to to this date tho pre vailing sentiment has been op posed to instructions, but with the line well defined between the two aspirants instructions may be forced upon the convention. In the meantime a number of States have instructed their dele gates for favorite sons" in order to place them in the path of the lightning, and there is talk now of a "dark horse" carrying off the honors at St. Louis. honor. In that expected to be overly troublesome in the Presi dential campaign if the nomina tion should not happen to suit him. Tammany Hall will send (V.0 delegates to the St. Louis conven tion, by far the largest represen tation ever sent by that organiza tion to any state or National con J vent ion. Six special trains have been engaged for the trip. When Hiked why bucIi a large delegation, Manager Plunkitt said "this is a Democratic year and the boys all want to get on the trains." The Tennessee Democratic con- fventirm Weclnpsrlnv urtminntorl Governor Frazier for re-election and instructed its St. Louis dele gation for Parker. Senator Car- mack leads the delegation from the state at large. The crowd that assembled at Union Church, thirteen miles north of Aberdeen Sunday, is said to have numbered at least one thousand, and the generous, hos pitality of the people of the neigh borhood is the subject ofespecial comment from all who' were pres ent from this city. The occasion was the unveiling of a monument by Aberdeen Camp No.ll47, to their deceased sov erign R. . Baker. The ceremo nies were participated in by dele gates from Okolona, Wren, Amory aud Nettleton Camps, numbering in all one hundred Woodmen la the line of procession. Addresses were delivered by sovereigns P. A. Dulin and C. T. Keyes of Aler deen and Wren, while the poem was read by Miss Sallie Buchan an, of Nettleton. Otherwise the ceremonies were conducted by Messrs. J. A. Haire, Consul Com mander; Addison Brannin, Master of Arms; and John Baxter Mc Farland Captain. The Supervisor's Election. It now appears that racetrack associations were paid by the telegraph company to run races and the company sold the news of the races to the pool room operators. The men who bought pool thus helped sustain not only the telegraph company's profits, but keep the horse racing going. It was a business within a business, and all kept going, not by the me who are fond of fine horses and love racing, but by the gamblers. As nearly every city in the country possessed one or more pool rooms, tlie amount of business transacted was enormous. Mobile Register. Watklns-Ater. So mildly natural are the effects of Dr. CarUted's Gtrman Liver Powders upon the intestine?, that Constipation passes quickly before it. Tho majority of laxatives leave a scalding-, burning sense of pain, a condition wholly avoided when our remedy is used. Thus the process of healing immediately begins and the entire actions of the bowels are easy and comfortable. Well-known ptrysicians are recommending this specific in their practice when treating Constipation. The sense of fullness after eating is a direct result of abnor mal conditions. Certain dietists go to extremes and advise patients to cut off their allowance of food almost to a point of starvation, as if the functions of the human body could get along with out nourishment for a single day! Such strenuous measures are wholly unnecessary, neither does one need to be constantly purging the system with this or that drug put up and sold by unscrupulus dealers. An occasional use of our Liver Powder makes digestion easy. That sallow look leaves the skin, the extremities become warm, and eating becomes once more a pleasure as well as a neces sity. There is no case of Constipation, however chronic, that cannot be who'h- eradicated by first going to the root of the trouble. All forms of indigestion are the results ol an inactive liver or kidneys. Then follows Constipation and Pih-s, together with an accumulation of gases in the bowels. General debility at last overtakes the patient, and there is a loss of courage in all lu undertakes. Each and everyone of these morbid conditions can be obviated by a moderate use oi Dr. Carlstedt's German Liver Powder Would you try it? Then make use of coupon herein printed. The exact cure j-ou are looking for is within your reach HOW ! It costs you nothing ti try the remedy. It will cost us many thousands of dollars to circulate these free samples, but this is our method of advertising; when once you have used the remedy you will not care to go back t the poisonous drugs and doubtful Constipation cures with which the market is being flooded. You want proof? You have a right to it. When Mr. j. O. Cooper, proprietor of the Phcenix Hotel, Hopkinsville, Ky., could find no other relief, he was prevailed upon to try our remedy. "Now, GooJ digestion TOJtit on appetite. And health on both." Shakespeare thu intimates to us that a harmoni ous working of the digestive organs is altogether paramount to human happiness.
