The colored people of that ueighburbt od have erected n large and commodious building, well lighted and furnished with every necessary fixture, blackboards, scats, etc. Plus together with the wise selection they have made in their teacher for the past several years shows that they are aroused to an active working Interest in the cause of education, Miss Christina Isadorohas been their teacher here, She received ho education ehietly from the public schools of this county, spending but one term in the University of New Orleans. The im provement manifested in this school shows that she ranks among the most enlighten ed colored teachers in this county. We will not attempt to give the pro gramme as it would .require too much space, but will say the concert was a grand success., About 12 oc'luck ft mug : niticcnt dinner was served. During the remmuder of the day the participants en joyed various games, and at 7:30 o'clock all the pupils m weired Into the house and as their names were called presented them selves upon the stage and recited their respective pieces. At 11 o'clock the ex ercises closed with a few appropriate re marks from the teacher. The teacher and pupils deserve much credit for the manner in which the exercises were conducted. A Spectator.
