Editor Brandon News: Please allow me space in your paper to make a little explanation as to my position on the Executive Committee. When Mr. D. M. May ers, Chairman of the Executive Committee undertook to get a list of the committee from the Brandon News, he found that Jthe paper con taining the list of the committee had been lost and he was unable to find it in the News office or else where. He remembered that Mr. J. D. Sandifer was one of the mem bers of beat 1, and wrote Mr. San difer asking him to give him the names of the other two members. Mr. Sandifer replied that his recol lection was that C. J. Stubbs and W. G Ellis were the other two members. Having received infor mation that I was a member of the committee, and a request that I should attend, I was present at the meeting of the committee, and at the request of Mr. J. W. Taylor, a member of the committee, I also acted as his proxy. T only acted as a member because I thought I was a member and that it was my duty »to act I have no desire to serve on the committee and cheerfully with draw, as upon investigation I find I was not elected a member. My information is that J. W. Taylor, J D. Sandifer and C. W. A1 listen were elected in 1908 to serve four years and are now the members from this beat. i Very respectfully, * C. J.
