A more beautiful ceiemony was never perfoimed in our city than that of last Wednesday even ing, when Dr. I. Lewinthal in words, glowing and eloquent, pro nounced the bonds that united for life, Miss Esther Priebatsch, of this city and Mr.Henry C. Green wood, of Washington, D. C. The spotless walls of Temple B’nai Sholom, illuminated by myr iads of electric lights, appeared a fitting canvas, upon which the deft brush of the painter had left in living green exquisite palms, ferns and bowers of graceful gar lands. In the centre , the same hand had placed a lover’s knot of bride’s roses and pink carnations, suspended by ribbons of satin sheen , and the eye rested and was refreshed until the scene became animated by the crowning glory of creation and emotion began to quiver into oeing. First appeared the commanding figure of the distinguished Rabbi, who is an uncle of the bride; then is Lohengrin’s wedding march de scended in floods of melody, the painters brush swept in grace ful curves and richer tones of life and" love, when Mrs. A. H. Simon matron of hon or, Miss Adele Priebatsch, maid of honor, and Misses Ritchie Wilson and Stella Benjaraine, bridemaids, each gowned in ex quisite, softly flowing robes of white and carrying great bunches of pink carnations tied with streamers of pink ribbon, stood within the bower of beauteous green. The scene was perfected when the groom advanced, and the bride, supported by her brother Leon, took her place beside her acceptd lover. Mr. Moses Green wood of.New York, was best man, and Messrs Julius Priebatsch and Max Lewinthal acted in the capac ity of ushers. The wedding march was played by Mrs. Claude Bowen and Miss Vivion. Mrs. Greenwood, who is a tail And graceful brunette, appeared a typical bride in white chiffon over white taffeta, with veil and all desirable and admirable acces sories. The appearance of the whole party waif highly eulogized. After the ceremony a dinner was served at the home of the bride’s mother,Mrs.M. Priebatsch, after which the young couple left for a bridal tour to prominent cities and places North and East. Sumptuous wedding gifts attest ed the esteem in which the fair bride is held in this .city, -.where she was born and reared and where there are none who know aught to mar her beautiful charac ter and deserved reputation for all that is womanly and lovable.
