These belted beauties are part of the 140 pigs Levi Shelton, Phillips county, raised this spring from his 20 top Hampshire sows. Shelton has topped the market at Spokane for three years with his hogs and last year had one car sell for 2S cents over the market. Registered boars are used at the farm. 32 Cents Top Paid weighed with a shrinkage of 2 per for Select Steers A TOP of 32 cents a pound for 50 selected steers from the Augusta area was noted in contract cattle sales reported for early September. These steers were from one of the state's best herds and were selected for special purposes for shipment to California. Other early September trans actions reported included; Augusta area, 443 3-year-old steers at 26% cents and 168 2-year old steers at 25% cents, weighed with overnight shrinkage, immedi ate delivery; Highwood area, 125 wet cows, $170 per head, fall de livery, and Great Falls area, 130 whitefaced yearling steers, fall de livery at 26% cents. Wool Shrinkage STAPLE LENGTH and a lighter shrinkage go together in some coarser grade wools just as they are found together in some of the finer wools. This information is contained in Study of 1944 and 1945 clips of Wyoming wool which was made by R. H. Bums, head of the University of Wyoming wool department. Burns said that a study of 1944 and 1945 clips in Wyoming showed the shorter wools of the three eights blood fleeces giving a shrink age, on the average, about three per cent heavier than the shrink ages of staple length in the same grade. a
