Full information on request. Notes - - - - By Gill NOW THE FROST has been on the pumpkin, at least in most parts of the Treasure state and in Wyom ing. General rains throughout all the area have put a favorable aspect on the crop and grass outlook for the rest of the sea son and the 1949 prospects. Sheep are moving fast. Generally it looks as though Larry Gill most lambs being delivered at this time are off a pound or so in weight. Out-of-season rains, abnormal grass curing are giving both lambs and cattle less real weight, a lower dress ing percentage. Very dry, until re cently, in the Forsyth area. Grass hoppers are reported in large num bers there also. The area south of Buffalo, Wyo., has been reported extremely dry. W. J. Harrer, Green Meadow ranch, Helena, reports sale of six Angus bulls to Ed Stevens, Toma hawk ranch, Boulder. The same number of Hereford bulls were de livered by A. E. Sheldon, Hobson, to Martinell Bros., Dell, Mont. The latter were of Anxiety and Real Blocky Domino breeding. Sale Time Now On From now on the registered cat tle,, sheep and swine sale season is on, as is the sale season for commer cial livestock. First sale of the run will be at White Sulphur Springs on press day. A big crowd is expected at Lewistown the following day, Oct. 2d, for the Ben Peterson annual sale. The annual Great Falls consignment sale is the following week, then things really start popping, with two of the big sales of the state on Oct. 11th. At Dillon the Montana Futurity, at Lewistown a sale that last year made headlines through out the western United States, the N Bar sale. This year Arch Ginther, Harlowton, will be a great consignor, to bring a total of 625 head of reg istered and commercial Angus calves before the buying public. Polled Hereford Sales The scene shifts from here to a couple of Polled Hereford sales at Sheridan, Wyo. It's the noted John Rice sale on the 12th, the first an nual Wyoming-Montana Polled sale the following day. Malta is the next stop on my itinerary, their annual association consignment Hereford bull sale, then the great Gold Rush circuit. First at Vaughn, where the great RS Super Princeps (Parkes Hereford ranch) will be the subject of the day. On the Monday follow ing, Evan Mischief at the round bam near Twin Bridges; on Tuesday the 19th, $35,000 TT Triumphant will be on stage "in person" at the Con War-, ren sale. And if you are still in a traveling mood it will be Polled Herefords at Lolo, Mont., the follow ing day. Dick Rossignol, the host. Lupine Poisoning Lupine poisoning caused the death of at least 300 sheep, mostly lambs near Big Timber last week.
