NEW WEED KILLER
A NEW NON-SELECTIVE weed
killer is now available for use in
locations where a relatively long
period of sterilization is desired and
where fire hazard is a special prob
lem. Known as Chlorax Spray Pow
der, this herbicide was developed
by Chipman Chemical Co.
Although Chlorax contains sodium
'J
chlorate (combined with a special
form of borate), it does not have
the fire hazard normally associat
ed with chlorates. Also, it does not
create danger of poisoning to graz
ing livestock under normal condi
tions of use.
Chlorax is designed to kill both
deep and shallow-rooted weeds and
grasses. It is especially recommend
ed for use along fence rows, ditch
banks, road sides, around buildings,
granaries and other places where
a long-lasting residual efféct is an
advantage. At lighter dosages, it is
used as a contact spray for quick
"knockdown" of annual vegetation.
