Melody Roundup Foreman KMON, YOUR Montana Farmer Stockman station, has continued its leadership in western music with the addition of "Tex" Lansing to its staff. "Tex," who takes over the enjoyable chore of conducting the morning and afternoon editions of Melody Round vS 1 i i "TEX" LANSING up, hails from Waco, Tex., one of the strongholds of western and folk mu sic. "Tex," despite his Texas back ground, a intermountain area and lived a large portion of his life in Sheridan, Wyo. Melody Roundup with "Tex" Lans ing as foreman is heard Monday through Friday at 11 a. m. until 11:30 a. m. and again in the after noon immediately following major league baseball. On Saturdays, his show is heard 10 a. m. to 11 a. m. Melody Roundup airs requests for the most popular western and folk tunes and is bidding fair to take over "mail" honors on the station. KMON Yodeler Is Real Cowhand MATT ANTONICH, Montana's yo deling cowboy, is the latest addition to the western line-up of KMON. Matt, a local winner in a 1949 talent * I Ü i iMÊtym -i MATT ANTONICH hunt here in Great Falls, brings his winning ways to KMON listeners each Tuesday and Thursday after noons at 3:30 when he appears in a 15-minute portion of "Tex" Lansing's Melody Roundup show. Matt, a yo deler of real talent, plays his own and programs his portion of the show to play requests. He ranches near Belt and is truly a western character with regular ranch duties. The United States has 435,000,000 acres of cultivated land, which is 22.8 percent, or almost one-fourth, of its total area. This is 3.13 acres of cultivated land per capita and 17.0 percent of the world's total cultivated acres, which measure up to about 2.47 billion acres. Comparing these figures with other leading countries, this country is fourth.
