Great Falls, Montana KMON Program Notes KMON Celebrates 3d Anniversary A SURPRISE PARTY for both lis teners and tiie staff of KMON was conducted by Mel Hallock, program director of KMON, on Memorial day, May 30, as the Montana Farmer Stockman station marked its third birthday. In a surprise move at 2 in the aft ernoon of the birthday, Hallock, without warning, moved a micro phone into the business office and started broadcasting. The 45-minute broadcast consisted of interviews with each member of the KMON staff. Transmitter personnel had been called in for the session and j f n . Stale Crop Forecast Well Above Average WHILE THE USDA forecast that the nation's 1951 "drouth-hampered" wheat crop would fall short of the government goals, it estimated the Montana crop as well above average. The total spring and winter wheat production for the state is forecast at 97,296,000 bushels, compared to 93,858,000 last year and a 10-year average of 67,745,000. Winter wheat yield is estimated at 28,776,000 bush els. Production last year was 25,212, 000 . Production for the nation is esti mated at 1,053,825,000.
