It was patterned after the first such event held at Great Falls in 1950 by the Montana Hereford association. A. E. Boswell, Billings; Claude Windecker, Ennis; Howard Lewis, Bozeman; Harold Bodley, Hobson, and Clarence Hagen, Stevensville, were at the meeting. They reported that a panel of commercial breeders asked for a type of Hereford with plenty of size but also with eye ap peal and an ability to feed out in such a way as to be saleable at any time. A meat demonstration showing the relationship between quality of a feeder and the carcass on the hook was reported to have been one of the most interesting aspects of the * congress, but many parts of the meetings were considered somewhat "elemental." Although no date was set, the next congress will be held in Fort Worth, Tex., in 1952. • • • Art Crawford-Frost, Nanton, Al berta, Canada, recently purchased at a reportedly substantial price, a young calf by the Monforton bred Royal Domino 5th from Lewis & Jarboe, Bozeman.
